In this message from Matthew 26, we consider the meaning and significance of the Lord’s Supper and its connection to the Passover.
As Jesus approached the cross, He was not surprised by what was coming. He knew of the betrayal, the suffering, and the crucifixion—yet He willingly gave Himself for us. In that final meal with His disciples, He established the Lord’s Supper as a lasting reminder of His sacrifice.
The bread and the cup point us to Christ—His sinless body and His shed blood. They call us to remember the price of our redemption and to reflect on the grace that has been given to us.
This message also reminds us that the Lord’s Supper is not simply a tradition, but a time for:
- Remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice
- Examination of our hearts before God
- Thanksgiving for His grace and forgiveness
- Anticipation of His promised return
As Scripture teaches, “Christ our passover is sacrificed for us” (1 Corinthians 5:7). The Lord’s Supper directs our attention to Him—His work on the cross, His continued work in our lives, and His coming again.
We invite you to take time to listen to this message and prepare your heart as we look ahead to observing the Lord’s Supper together.
