Key Scripture:

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
— John 14:6 KJV Day 2 God is Not Hiding

Last week, we asked an important question:

Do I know about Jesus, or do I truly know Him?

This week, we take that truth one step further.

If you want to know God, you don't have to wonder where to look.

Look to Jesus.

God has not hidden Himself from us. He has revealed Himself through His Son, Jesus Christ.

Jesus isn't merely someone sent to tell us about God.

He is God in the flesh.

He is the only begotten Son.

He is the complete revelation of the Father. Day 2 God is Not Hiding

God Has Made Himself Known

Sometimes people talk about God as though He is distant and unknowable.

They search for Him through philosophies, religions, experiences, or their own ideas about what God must be like.

But Scripture tells us something remarkable.

God has already shown us.

Hebrews 1:3 describes Jesus this way:

“Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power…”
— Hebrews 1:3 KJV Day 2 God is Not Hiding

Jesus reveals the Father.

If you want to understand God's holiness, look at Jesus.

If you want to understand His compassion, look at Jesus.

If you want to understand His love, His truth, His mercy, and His character, look at Jesus.

God isn't hiding. He has made Himself known through His Son.

You Can't Go Around Jesus

That brings us back to Jesus' words in John 14:6:

“I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

Jesus didn't describe Himself as a way.

He said:

“I am the way.”

Pastor makes the point plainly:

“You cannot go around Jesus to reach God.” Day 2 God is Not Hiding

Christianity isn't ultimately about finding the right religious system.

It's about Christ.

We don't reach God through our accomplishments.

We don't reach Him by being good enough.

We don't reach Him through religious rituals.

We come to the Father through Jesus Christ.

And because of who Jesus is, He deserves far more than a small place somewhere in our lives.

Is Jesus Part of Your Life—or the Center of It?

Pastor gives us a powerful picture:

“As the earth revolves around the sun, so our lives must revolve around Jesus.” Day 2 God is Not Hiding

Think about that for a moment.

We often talk about “making time for Jesus.”

We have work.

Family.

Responsibilities.

Hobbies.

Plans.

Church.

And somewhere among those priorities, we try to find room for Christ.

But Jesus isn't supposed to be another item competing for space on the list.

He is supposed to be the center around which everything else revolves.

Scripture says:

“And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.”
— Colossians 1:18 KJV Day 2 God is Not Hiding

In all things.

Not some things.

Not just Sunday.

Not just when we're struggling.

Not just when we need an answer.

Christ deserves the highest place.

What Are You Still Holding Back?

That's where this week's devotional becomes personal.

It's easy to say that Jesus is first.

It's harder to examine whether our lives actually demonstrate it.

Pastor asks:

How would I honestly describe my relationship with Jesus today?

Is Christ the center of my life, or just part of it?

What areas of my life am I still holding back from Him? Day 2 God is Not Hiding

Maybe it's your career.

Your finances.

Your marriage.

Your plans.

Your habits.

Your time.

Your future.

Or maybe it's simply an area where you know what Christ is asking you to do, but you haven't surrendered it yet.

Following Jesus means giving Him more than the comfortable parts.

It means giving Him all of us.

Surrender. Refocus. Trust.

Pastor gives us three actions for this week.

Surrender.
Give Jesus every area of your life, not only the areas that are easy to release.

Refocus.
Look honestly at your priorities and intentionally put Christ first.

Trust.
Believe His power is enough to help you grow and change. Day 2 God is Not Hiding

That last one matters.

Because surrender can feel intimidating when we think everything depends on our own strength.

It doesn't.

Pastor reminds us that when we give ourselves to Jesus, His power is at work in us to strengthen us, change us, and satisfy our souls in ways nothing else can. Day 2 God is Not Hiding

Reflection

Maybe you've spent years trying to understand God.

Maybe you've wondered what He wants from you or what He is really like.

God has not left you searching in the dark.

Look to Jesus.

And once you find Him, don't give Him just another place in your life.

Give Him the center.

Let your marriage revolve around Christ.

Let your parenting revolve around Christ.

Let your work revolve around Christ.

Let your decisions revolve around Christ.

Let your plans revolve around Christ.

Let everything revolve around Him.

As Pastor closes this week's devotional:
