Hi friends,

There are some things in life that are easier to ignore than to face.

Conversations we’ve avoided.
Apologies we’ve delayed.
Situations we quietly hope will just… go away.

But sometimes, in the middle of our walk with God, He gently brings those things back to our attention.

Not to shame us…

But to heal us.

The weight we don’t always see

It’s easy to think that what’s in the past doesn’t matter anymore.

But unresolved things have a way of lingering—in our thoughts, in our hearts, and even in our relationship with God.

Sometimes it’s not loud or obvious…

It just feels like a quiet heaviness we can’t quite explain.

What Scripture shows us

Jesus speaks directly to this in Matthew 5:23–24.

He reminds us that if we come before God and remember that something is not right between us and someone else… we are to go and be reconciled.

That’s powerful.

Because it shows us that our relationships with others matter deeply to God.

What reconciliation really means

Reconciliation isn’t about proving a point.

It’s not about revisiting every detail.

And it’s not about making someone else take responsibility.

It’s about obedience.

It’s about humility.

It’s about choosing to say, “I’m sorry. Please forgive me.”

Even when it’s uncomfortable.

Even when it’s not easy.

But what if they don’t respond well?

That’s often the hardest part.

We want things to be fixed…
we want closure…
we want everything to feel right again.

But reconciliation doesn’t guarantee a perfect response.

It simply means we’ve done what God has asked of us.

The outcome is in His hands.

Why this matters in the battle for your mind

When things are left unresolved, the enemy uses them.

He accuses.
He reminds.
He keeps bringing it back up.

But when we obey God and take that step…

We remove the weight.

We remove the ground the enemy tries to stand on.

Reflection

Take a quiet moment and ask yourself:

  • Is there someone I need to forgive?
  • Is there something God is asking me to make right?

Encouragement

Friend, God isn’t asking you to do this to make things harder.

He’s inviting you into freedom.

Freedom from guilt.
Freedom from heaviness.
Freedom from what’s been lingering too long.

And on the other side of obedience…

There is peace.

Next: We’ll talk about the authority we have in Christ—and how that changes everything in this battle.
