Hi friends,
There are some parts of the Christian life that sound beautiful when we sing about them, but feel much harder when God asks us to actually live them.
Surrender is one of those things.
It is easy to say, “Lord, have Your way,” when His way matches ours.
It is much harder when His way asks us to forgive someone who hurt us.
To stay faithful in a season we would rather escape.
To release control of something we desperately want to manage ourselves.
To obey when obedience feels costly.
I have learned that some of the deepest spiritual growth happens in those quiet moments when no one else sees the choice being made.
The moment when our heart says, “But I want…”
and the Lord gently asks,
“Will you trust Me anyway?”
That is where the Cross becomes more than something we believe in.
It becomes something we live.
When Jesus said:
“If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.” — Luke 9:23 (KJV)
He was not talking about carrying a small inconvenience.
He was describing a life of daily surrender.
And if we are honest, that kind of surrender can feel like death.
But with Christ, death is never the end of the story.
It is the doorway to life.
